About

Maddie Hammell is a versatile artist that enjoys working closely with clients to create strong tattoos that will last a lifetime. Whether fine-line or traditional, Maddie’s designs strive to honor the art and history of tattooing through imagery and style. She is strongly influenced by the classic motifs, intricate linework and muted color palettes of late 19th and early 20th-century British tattooing. Since moving from Philadelphia to Phoenix in 2021, the palettes and imagery of the American southwest have begun to influence her as well, slowly creeping more and more into her tattoos.

After working at Copper State Tattoo in Phoenix for 3 years, Maddie followed the desert’s allure and moved to Jerome, Arizona in 2024 to envelop herself in the magic and history of the Southwest. She now tattoos out of the Jerome Art Center in the historic Jerome High School perched among the foothills of the ‘Wickidest Town in the West’. Opened in 2025, Desert Door Tattoo offers a warm, welcoming and fascinating atmosphere for your next tattoo.
